Peggy Spratt Legacy Exhibition
This artwork has been donated by award winning Canberra artist Peggy Spratt, who was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2019.
Peggy’s formal tertiary education was in science with BSc and MA at the University of Toronto and a PhD at the University of Queensland. Following a long interest in art, she started open art classes at ANU in 1996 and from 1999-2003 did a BA in Visual Arts at the Australian National University. In 2007 she trained as a voluntary guide at the National Art Gallery. This lets her combine a love of teaching with a love of art. Working in an environment where she talks about art and conveys her enthusiasm to adults and particularly to school groups also contributes to her own art practice.
You can read more about Peggy's story in the Canberra Times article here: https://www.canberratimes.com.au/story/7970091/canberra-artist-to-sell-paintings-for-ovarian-cancer-research/
All funds raised from the sale of Peggy's artwork will be directed to ANZGOG's vital gynaecological cancer research.
