Alex doesn’t want to waste a moment of her precious life dwelling on the ‘what ifs.’

But this loving mum of four knows things could have been different. She is sharing her story so that other women with gynecological cancers aren’t left looking back at missed opportunities to save their lives.

Flickering Memories 2025

Flickering Memories is a dedicated group of people from the Burnie region in North-West Tasmania who every year run high teas for the community in Penguin, over two days.

Led by Sue Radford, who has been touched by women’s cancers, this community group have the goal of raising funds and educating the women in their local community about the symptoms and risks of ovarian and other gynaecological cancers.
