Sal Upton’s Birthday Fundraiser for Lynda Gibson

It’s 20 years since our darling, talented friend and colleague, actor, comedian, and co-founder of OVCA, Lynda Gibson, passed away after her four-year journey navigating her ovarian cancer diagnosis. In her last years, Gib was a fierce voice for improving the lives of women who might also be diagnosed with ovarian cancer, the deadliest of all women’s cancers.

As a proud ambassador of WomenCan and ANZGOG, I’m reaching out to you all for your help, whatever you can afford, to assist us in reaching my birthday goal and keeping Lynda’s memory and advocacy alive!

For my birthday fundraising drive this year, we have the opportunity of raising together $1000+ in Gibbo’s Memory.

From now, until the end of March, (which would have been Lynda’s 67^th birthday,) all that we raise worldwide, will go to supporting WomenCan, which is a registered fundraising initiative for gynaecological cancer research conducted by the Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group. 

Our mission is to improve outcomes and quality of the lives of women who are living with the experience of gynaecological cancer by conducting and promoting clinical trials and multidisciplinary research.

Knowledge is empowerment for all our mothers, grandmothers, daughters, sisters, friends, colleagues, and all the women in our lives who are dealing with their gynaecological cancer diagnosis.
