Honour Debbie’s legacy by funding gynaecological cancer research with a donation today.
Help reach our goal of $60,000 for gynaecological cancer research
The gardens are open again!
The Brucedale Open Garden and Market Day is back, bringing family, friends and the community together to celebrate Debbie’s life and continue the legacy she created.
Since the first event in 2019, the Brucedale Open Garden has raised more than $40,000 for gynaecological cancer research. This year, we’re hoping to build on that incredible legacy and reach $60,000.
Organised by Debbie’s family, the day will feature three beautiful gardens, boutique market stalls, live music, local food, wine tasting, face painting, raffle prizes and more, with all proceeds donated to ANZGOG | WomenCan to support gynaecological cancer research.
Join us on Sunday 25 October for a special day in honour of Debbie, and help us continue what she started.

The Woman Behind The Open Gardens
Debbie, a much-loved mum, was diagnosed with a rare uterine leiomyosarcoma in 2018.
In 2019, Debbie hosted the first Brucedale Open Garden and Market Day, opening her gardens to the community to raise vital awareness and funds for gynaecological cancer research. Together, the event raised just over $20,000.
Sadly, Debbie passed away in October 2020. But her vision for the event didn’t end there.
Debbie wanted the Brucedale Open Garden to become part of her legacy, continuing to bring people together while raising awareness and funds for women’s cancers.
In 2022, Debbie’s family opened the gardens once again. Despite statewide flooding and challenging weather, the community came together and raised a further $20,000.
Now, in honour of Debbie and her vision, the gardens are opening again.
Continuing Debbie's legacy
What started with Debbie’s vision continues today through her family and the community she brought together.
The Brucedale Open Garden and Market Day is a chance to remember Debbie, celebrate her life and continue her commitment to raising awareness and supporting research into gynaecological cancers.
From the gardens to the markets and the people who came together to support the cause, these photos capture some special moments from previous Brucedale Open Garden days.
This year, we’re opening the gardens once again in Debbie’s honour, with all proceeds donated to ANZGOG | WomenCan to support gynaecological cancer research.
