In her recent appearance on SBS’s ‘Who do you think you are?’, Paula Duncan AM talked about how important family is to her and how her personal loss of her beloved sister to vaginal cancer drove her to commit in promoting gynaecological cancer.
Paula is a well-known and much-loved actress with a wonderful career spanning 50 years in TV and film on Australian screens. Over the years she has acted in many beloved dramas, most recognized for her iconic appearance as Detective Danni Francis in Cop Shop, as well as her appearance in Paradise Beach and Breakers.

Paula experienced deep personal loss when her beloved sister, actress Carmen Duncan died from vaginal cancer in 2018. An active philanthropist, Paula is passionate about raising the profile of gynaecological cancers and ensuring increased funding for research to enable women to live better and live longer.
Paula’s active involvement in raising awareness for gynaecological cancer goes beyond her commitments as ambassador. Qualified as an event manager, Paula shared her vision in gathering talented players from the North Sydney Bears to kick-off the Norths Collective and WomenCan Team Teal Cup. Thanks to our valued event sponsors & partners and Paula’s efforts, the team was able to inspire spectators and contribute to our continued effort to raise awareness and funds for gynaecological cancer research.
