Team Teal 2022 is live!

01 Feb 2022

“I support Team Teal because of the awareness it raises. Being a young female myself, I know that it doesn’t discriminate by age. Ovarian cancer can and does happen to women of all ages and if I can bring attention to that then it’s something small that I can do to help. To be an ambassador for this campaign is something I am immensely proud of.” - Jemma Coney, NSW Team Teal Ambassador

WomenCan is incredibly proud to once again be taking the reins to help women affected by ovarian cancer through our 2022 Team Teal campaign and it all kicks off today!

WomenCan has been working closely with the Harness Racing industry in Australia and New Zealand to Harness the Strength of Survivors and up until 15th March, all reinswomen will race in teal pants to raise awareness and much-needed funds for women with ovarian cancer when they secure first across the finish line. Funds raised will support the Survivors Teaching Students Program and since its inception, WomenCan, the Harness Racing industry, together with our corporate sponsor Tabcorp have raised in excess of $2 million for ovarian cancer research, education and awareness.

Team Teal Patron Duncan McPherson OAM recently reflected on the Team Teal campaign saying “it’s a wonderful initiative that has grown every year. I could not be prouder of our great industry and the way in which all harness jurisdictions have embraced this cause.”

This year we have some inspiring Ambassadors, who will be helping us Teal Up the Track and we’re excited to announce our 2022 Ambassadors:

  • Queensland: Narissa McMullen and Chloe Butler
  • Tasmania: Jordan Chibnall and Amber Spring (Teal Tots)
  • Victoria: Kerryn Manning, Kate Gath, Jodi Quinlan, Jackie Barker
