Ron Talbot: Bold Brave and Colourful
15 September 2022
Ron Talbot has been supporting WomenCan and the Honour Her campaign since 2019, when he lost his wife Andre Burgess to ovarian cancer.
“Andre was a determined and courageous woman who dedicated a huge part of her life towards her family and to those less fortunate. She worked as an educator and later as a senior government officer in remote Indigenous communities across the Northern Territory.”
Ron started paining in 2002 while attending art classes at Charles Darwin University in Alice Springs.
An impressionist artist working with oils and acrylics, his artwork is influenced by his travel across Australia and overseas. Self-taught and always learning, Ron has held solo exhibitions and collaborated in numerous group exhibitions.
After many years in the Northern Territory, Ron and his wife Andre relocated to Victoria where he now paints in his Red Door Studio.
Ron as kindly donated his artwork ‘Overheated’ to help raised funds for much needed gynaecological cancer research. Ron chose this piece to honour his wife Andre, as she loved gardening, and this piece truly reflects her personality. Bold, brave and colourful.
We encourage you to visit the Virtual Gallery to view all available pieces of art for purchase. The virtual gallery will be open for viewing and purchase during September.
