MEET
ALI

Like so many women, Ali’s symptoms started subtly—something didn’t feel right, but she couldn’t quite explain it. She described it as a sixth sense:

I didn’t know why, or how, but there was a voice, and it eventually got me to the doctors.

That instinct led her to push for answers.

Several appointments later, after continuous persistence from Ali, and eventually a five-hour surgery, she learned the devastating news. It's cancer.

Ali was diagnosed with a rare form of uterine cancer, which has had very limited research and clinical trials. This lack of research is due to a critical underfunding in gynaecological cancer research. Which has had devastating outcomes for women.

Now she is determined to help ensure that no other woman has to go through what she has. Will you help her in this mission?

Too many women in Australia are dying from gynaecological cancers

Today, 19 women will be diagnosed with a gynaecological cancer

6 women lose their life to a gynaecological cancer every day

Over 55% of gynaecological cancer diagnoses are rare or less common, often leaving patients with limited or no treatment options.

You can fund the work to prevent it

You can help fund the first step towards giving more women access to the latest clinical trials and treatments.

ANZGOG is committed to pushing cutting-edge gynaecological cancer research forward.

That is why we're forging ahead with the MATCH-HER project.

MATCH-HER is the first step to building the infrastructure that will connect more women to the latest research and clinical trials at the point of diagnosis instead of when all other options are exhausted.

Female Researcher Microscope

"MATCH-HER is particularly helpful for women with rare cancers, as it will help ensure they can participate in trials that would not otherwise have been possible."

John Andrews, Manager – Research Programs and Pipeline
for Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group (ANZGOG)

It will help give doctors quicker and easier access to the latest research and clinical trials, so that they can propose more targeted treatments and care at the time of diagnosis.

Being able to access this when first diagnosed will greatly improve a woman's odds of survival.

Today, more than 90 per cent of women with gynaecological cancers will miss out on comprehensive molecular profiling.

You have the power to change that. A donation today helps fund the starting block that will help more women get the personalised treatment they need.

"The only thing that gives me hope at this time is that research will discover a cure or at the very least discover some new treatments that can give me more time."

Alisha

"Funding into more research is everything for women like me. Without research, this drug trial that I am on would not exist and I would have died by now."

Christine

"I am grateful to have been referred to a new clinical trial. It will mean regular travel interstate however the silver lining is that I'll be able to spend more time with my sons..."
