Team Teal - A snapshot of the latest news from races

16 Feb 2024

When working together, the community are a powerful force in funding ANZGOG's life-saving gynaecological cancer research.

Funds raised through community initiatives such as WomenCan’s Team Teal are crucial. They fuel ANZGOG's groundbreaking gyanecologcal cancer research and ensure ongoing education programs such as the innovative Survivors Training Students (STS) program. Funds raised brings us closer to new discoveries, better treatments, and ultimately, a better future for those diagnosed with gynaecological cancer.

Your participation and support are vital in empowering this cause!

What is Team Teal?

Every year, from 1 February to 15 March, WomenCan leads a special campaign called Team Teal in the world of harness racing in Australia and New Zealand, where the harness racing community and WomenCan unite to raise much-needed funds and awareness for ovarian and gynaecological cancer research and education.

Amberley Trotting Club is a North Canterbury Based Harness Racing club, that races on Waitangi Day.

"We thought it would be a great way to bring people to the races and raise awareness around Team Teal and what it's all about. The event went really well and we received lots of great feedback. The winner Danni Alfeld is a harness racing trainer so that was awesome! She and Maria Wright (runner-up) have now gained automatic entry into the final on March 15."
