'Reflections' by Karen Hick [acrylic on canvas 30cm x 30cm]
I started painting in my 40’s and have not looked back. My style is semi-abstract and I’m drawn to creating sea and landscapes. I’m lucky enough to live by the sea so my inspiration comes from my daily walks and observation of colour, shape and tone. I start a painting intuitively, with that first brushstroke, I’m already on my journey to create something peaceful and ethereal. I want the viewer to use their own imagination to interpret the painting for themselves. I want my artwork to bring happiness to those who buy my work.
'I am supporting Honour Her'....
I have donated an artwork to the Honour Her virtual gallery knowing that 100% of the proceeds go directly to cancer research. I have had two aunties that have had gynaecological cancer and I would like my work to honour their plight. I’ve created a seascape hoping that the work brings an ethereal and happy feeling to the viewer. There is something so special looking at the sea watching the waves roll in and the sunlight creating diamonds on the water surface. It’s a place where you can go to meditate and feel that warm fuzzy feeling in your soul. I hope my donation will take you on a wonderful journey and bring joy to your home.
